Douglas Tewksbury is a Canadian media artist, curator, and musician who works with images, sound, photo/video, electronics, coding, sculpture, field recordings, and other media. His ongoing body of creative work in recent years has focused on humans’ relationship to the natural world, the climate crisis, in particular.

He has developed works for various museums, galleries, and public spaces, including The Art Gallery of Hamilton, The Burchfield Penney Art Gallery, The Castellani Art Museum, Artpark, Hallwalls, The Royal Botanical Garden, the Sarasota Art Museum, Hamilton Supercrawl, the City of Hamilton, the Inverness County Centre for the Arts, and others. He has released numerous compositions of musical works, including 2024’s long-form 4x work Floes: Volumes I-IV (2024; Tridek Records), Brutes and Brutes Remixed (2022/23; Hush Hush Records), Paths (2021; Geertruida Records), and many other singular and collaborative works. He has been selected for residencies or fellowships at The Arctic Circle Residency, The Banff Centre, the University of California - Irvine, McMaster University, and others. He is a Fulbright Fellowship alumnus.

He is based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and is Professor of Media Studies in the Department of Communication and Media Studies at Niagara University in Lewiston, New York, USA where he teaches and researches environmental issues, technology, art, and culture.
